Fishing Derbies

What it is

A fishing derby is a server-wide timed fishing contest. When one starts, everyone drops what they're doing, grabs a rod, and fishes like their honor depends on it — because it does. When the timer runs out, the best catch wins.

How it works

1. A derby starts — either someone runs /derby start or the server kicks one off automatically when enough players are on.
2. Fish anywhere in the world while the clock runs (5 minutes by default).
3. The winner takes home golden apples and a trophy fishing rod — permanent bragging rights.

Tips

• Luck of the Sea and Lure enchantments are legal. Use them.
• Derbies need at least 2 players — recruit a rival before you start one.
• Collect the trophy rods. Frame them. Build a shrine.
