Getting started

New to Eternal Realms? Here's everything you need for your first days on the server.

1 Join the server

You'll need Minecraft: Java Edition (version 1.21+).

  1. In Minecraft, go to Multiplayer → Add Server.
  2. Paste the address: play.eternalrealms.io
  3. Join, say hi in chat, and you're in!

Optional mods the server plays nice with: Xaero's Minimap / World Map (waypoints sync automatically) and Simple Voice Chat (proximity voice — talk to players near you).

2 Protect your base

Before you build anything fancy, claim your land so nothing can be broken or stolen. Craft a Protection Stone (8 stone around a coal block — see the crafting guide) and place it at your base. It protects an 11×11 area; better center blocks protect much more, up to 64×64 with an emerald block.

3 Learn the handy commands

/backTeleport back to where you died — no more lost items panic.
/sitSit down! Also works by right-clicking stairs and slabs.
/coordsShare your current location in chat with one click.
/hudToggle a coordinates + compass + clock HUD on your action bar.
/sethome & /homeSet your home and teleport back to it.
/tpaAsk to teleport to a friend (they accept with /tpaccept).
/skillsYour AuraSkills menu — level up everything you already do.
/setwarp & /warpSave up to 3 personal warp points and teleport to them.
/nickSet a nickname, colors allowed.
/trashOpens a disposal bin for junk you don't want.
/phantomsToggle phantom spawning for yourself if you hate sleeping.
/playtime & /playtopSee your playtime and the server leaderboard.
/mapviewAdjust how many chunks the map reveals around you.
/balance & /payCheck your coins, pay friends, and climb /baltop.
/marketThe Eternal Exchange — browse player listings, or /market sell <price> to list what you're holding.
/shopThe server shop — buy prices move with demand, sell payouts stay fixed.
/withdrawTurn coins into a physical banknote you can trade or stash.
/treasuryYour town's shared funds — deposit and withdraw together.
/bloodmoonWhen does the next blood moon rise? Check before it's too late.
/seasonCurrent season and incoming weather.
/bibleOpen the Holy Bible or get your own copy.

4 Get around fast

Waystones are the server's fast-travel network. Craft one (8 stone bricks around an ender pearl), place it, and name it. Click any waystone you find in the world once to discover it — after that you can teleport between all the waystones you know. Check the live map to find towns and waystones near you.

5 Join or found a town

Towns are how we build together. Use /town to found your own town, invite your friends as citizens, and set a town spawn everyone can visit. Your town's territory shows up on the live map, and you'll see "Entering ..." messages when players cross into town land.

6 Have fun with the extras

  • Fishing derbies — timed contests with trophies and prizes. Start one with /derby.
  • Backpacks — craftable portable storage for your travels.
  • Vanilla+ tweaks — custom-shaped nether portals, posable armor stands, chest locks with trial keys, throwable fireballs, pet-calling goat horns, silk-touch paintings & spawners, and more little upgrades everywhere.
  • Pokeballs — capture and carry mobs. Great for moving your animals.
  • Ships — build a boat from blocks, add a Ship's Helm, and actually sail it. Mind the wind: run with it and you fly, point within 45° of it and your sails slack (/ship wind). Add cannons if you're feeling spicy. Your ship can even be your home: /ship tp boards her wherever she is.
  • Custom music discs — craft our custom songs and play them in jukeboxes.
  • Death chests — if you die, your items wait safely in a chest at the spot (and /back takes you right there).
  • Mob & player heads — mobs sometimes drop their heads. Collect them all!
  • Piranhas — hostile schools in rivers, swamps and jungle waters. They circle before they strike, and blood in the water starts a frenzy. Boats are safe.
  • Blood moons — once a week the moon turns red: the night crawls with extra mobs, but every kill pays a coin bounty (doubled all night).
  • Seasons & weather — the world follows real seasons with a living sky: fog, hail, downpours, sandstorms, auroras, meteor showers, rainbows — and yes, hurricanes. Weather-proof claims keep your base safe.
  • The Holy Bible — the complete King James Bible, craftable and readable in game. /bible to get yours.
  • Skills — AuraSkills progression: mining, fighting, farming and more all level up. /skills to see yours.
  • Brewing — BreweryX lets you ferment, distill and age real drinks. Quality matters; hangovers are real.
  • 28 datapacks — a reworked Nether (Incendium), a brutal End (Stellarity), revamped villages, ancient artifacts, working trains and much more. The full roster.

All the recipes are in the crafting guide.
